27 Jun 2010 : Courts Available for Hoole LTC Members at Alexandra Park

Three of the six tennis courts at Alexandra Park (Canadian Avenue) are now available for use by Hoole LTC members.
Hoole LTC recently arranged and paid for all of the courts at Alexandra Park to be cleaned and repainted. In return Cheshire West & Chester council have granted us a block booking of 3 of the 6 courts, whenever we wish to use them. This will greatly increase our court availability and should make it possible for all of us to play more tennis.
There is signage at the courts at Alexandra Park explaining the arrangement and the courts are labelled so there should be no confusion. Courts 1, 2 and 3 have been allocated to Hoole LTC – these are the 3 courts at the bowling green end. Courts 4, 5 and 6 are available for public use.
If Hoole LTC members are not using courts 1, 2 or 3 then these courts are available for public use. If Hoole LTC members arrive at Alexandra Park and find the courts are being used by non-Hoole members they should explain the situation, by referring to the signage at the courts that explains the arrangement, and ask the non-Hoole members to allow them to use the courts as per the agreement. Hoole LTC members should make sure they have their Hoole LTC shoe tags so that they can prove their membership of Hoole LTC.
The courts at Alexandra Park are available for use by Senior and Junior members of Hoole LTC. We plan to use the courts for a number of Junior Matches so that there will no longer be any issue with Junior Matches over-running into time when the courts at Hoole are needed for Club Nights or Senior Matches. Berin and Liam will also be using the courts for some coaching sessions. Details of when the courts at Alexandra Park are being used in this way will be shown on an “Alexandra Park Court Availability” sheet which will be posted in the Clubhouse and on the website here, in the same way as the availability of the courts at Hoole is already publicised.
When Junior members are using the courts at Alexandra Park for Junior Matches, they will be accompanied by the parent(s) who is (are) running the match on the day. When Junior members use the courts at Alexandra Park for casual play it is their parents’ responsibility to decide whether the children are left by themselves at the courts – in exactly the same way as it is the parents’ responsibility to decide whether to leave their children on their own at the courts at the Club.
The availability of the courts at Alexandra Park should enable all members of the Club to play more tennis. If you have any questions about the arrangements please contact Berin Ames, Sarah Rizvi or Ken Thomas.
